cups

I just got an e-mail from a store in Boston who wants to carry some of my cups! I'm so excited and starting working on those right away, but I like how those turned out so much I decided to list them on my shop and make different ones for the Boston store.

Instinct

This is a part of a 3 drawing series i made today for "Illustration Friday" the word of the week was "instinct" It made me think of the owl tattoo I got last week and how all my Tattoos aside of one are of Animals, because I feel they represent best different state of minds and massages I want to bring into my life.

The series shows the same model (Sierra) in 3 different state of minds, each followed by an animalistic inspiration of the moment.

Relaxing

In the past couple of days, I was really assertive, I've wrote back to some people Ned and I met in the PowerHouse portfolio review, I submitted my art to a Gallery and 3 stores (2 Form answered received back), I communicated with a guy that have a site for New York photographers and got accepted to it (though haven't uploaded anything yet), and send Ned's presentation to an online French magazine.

Somehow, though I'm pretty sick and very tired, I was able ot do all those things, and though it wasn't fun, it was very productive and also, very empowering not to be paralyzed by having to face the notion of communication and knowing that I might get rejected.

However, tonight was spend in not even completing and Etsy order but just making stuff for myself, I designed those cups in my mind last week when I was in State Collage and couldn't fall asleep, and so it was really nice to finally let them take shape in life and not just in my brain.

Special Delivery

They are collecting Valentine's cards from different Etsy users and sending them out with meals from citymeals-on-wheels for people in need across the city. They are trying to collect 18,000 cards! how amazing is that!

So, if this meant having a chance to do something good and motivate myself to make some art, I'm always happy to be involved. I made a series of 20 cards on old book page with 2 funny looking birds on them. I send 10 out to Adam who's in charge of the project, and kept 10 to send to my etsy shop buyers when they buy from my store. I hope that I'll get rid of all of them before Valentine's get here.

Friends Forever!

A wonderful buyer from my etsy store wrote and asked me to make an original painting for her, as a Christmas present for her best friend - they are friends for over 30 years! I really like her request, a drawing of birds in green and blue and the words "friends forever".

At the same time I got an e-mail from a cool store in Brooklyn asking for prints for a charity show for a bunny shelter (how can you not donate money \ art to a bunny shelter?!) and I decided to use the draft sketch I made for the painting as an image for a gocco print.

I finish the prints today on watercolor paper, sketch paper and old book paper, they are beautiful and very colorful! I painted each of those by hand, in different colors.

So, a bunch are going to be sold at the Fact and Fancy art show or, you can have one, absolutly free with perches of anything from my shop, if you use the secret password "SAVEtheBUNNIES" in the massage to the seller section.

Bird Ornamets, crafting and being busy

I've been so busy over the past couple of days. Ned's mom is having another trunk show in her apartment, and suggested that I bring some things again. I was very happy to participate and then forgot all about it, remembering on Friday that it's actually starting on the next week...

So, I was crafting like crazy, I made - 2 small bears, 2 medium bears, one huge bear what's made of cool red sweater. The, 5 vases and another large one, and a bunch of tiny notebooks (maybe 8? I can't remeber) And brought in a few other items from the store.

Yesterday, after the first truck show day, Ned got an e-mail from his mom letting me know that 3 vases and 1 teddy bears were sold.

Other then that I was taking care of my first large order, a gardening store asked me to make 10 vases for them. Suddenly, the box that contained over 30 vases and were sitting under the dining room table seem to be close to an end of it's supply...

So with all this activity, it feels like I had no time to just sit and make things for a while and so the other night when I couldn't sleep, I decided to get out of bed and I made 3 little ornament birds. I made those last year for Christmas when I just started to post more often in my shop. And I'm really happy to be making another set.
