We did the shopping last Monday, by Friday, a lot of the produce are getting to that not-so-fresh stage, and then I start cooking by who's coming to that so ripe stage that I have to either eat it or throw it out. I hate throwing out food.
The cherry tomatoes was half gone already. I had to throw out half of them, and the rest were out on the counter all day. We were shooting and I always put out some snacks and vegetables out. So after the day was over, the tomatoes were even more wilted and soft.
So - mixed with purple onion, so much garlic, chopped basil and white wine (which honestly has seen better days...) it made a lovely dinner.
